These principles include:

  1. Link between religious and social dimensions of life
  2. Dignity of the Human Person,
  3. Option for the poor,
  4. Link between love and justice,
  5. Promotion of the common good,
  6. Political participation,
  7. Economic justice,
  8. Stewardship,
  9. Global solidarity,
  10. Promotion of peace,
  11. Subsidiarity and Gender Consciousness.

JDPC Maiduguri therefore, is part of the larger national network of JDPCs in the Catholic Archdioceses/Dioceses in Nigeria with a central coordinating office in the Department of Church and Society of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN) Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria.

Although JDPC is part of the large network of the National JDPCs, it is still independent and maintains certain characteristics peculiar to its operational circumstances. JDPC collaborates with the national office (Caritas Nigeria/JDPC), other faith-based agencies, local and international humanitarian and development organizations.

JDPC Maiduguri, like any sister JDPCs in any diocese in Nigeria, covers the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of Maiduguri Diocese which in the political jurisdiction of Nigeria, JDPC Maiduguri covers the whole of Borno and Yobe States and the Northern Adamawa State.

JDPC head office is located in Maiduguri Borno State with two zonal offices in Potiskum (Potiskum LGA) Yobe State and Shuwa (Madagali LGA), Adamawa State.[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column]
